YNSA Influence in the Treatment of Phantom Pain since 52 years, after Amputation of the Left Hand
Case 30

During the treatment I allowed myself to speak to the patient regarding his artificial hand in order to find out whether he experienced phantom pain (pseudoesthesia) in this hand.
"Oh yes, doctor, I have suffered from such pain for the past 52 years, day and night, there is no release. On some days the pain is very severe and other days not so bad. But the pains are always there".

I asked him whether he was suffering from these phantom pains right now and his answer was positive. When I suggested that we could try and treat this pain the patient believed it to be a joke and could not imagine that there could be a healing chance after 52 years.
Findings and Treatment Course: After a thorough examination in accordance with the YNSA principles the patient was treated on the following points. Basic point A, point 3 (wrist), Y-points (heart, pancreas, lung and kidney, left).

THE PSEUDOESTHESIA (PHANTOM PAIN) DISAPPEARED FOR THE FIRST TIME IN 52 YEARS AND DID NOT RETURN AGAIN
Exactly one week later the patient was examined again and he was still pain-free.
After two weeks the patient was still without pain and had already forgotten the expression "phantom pain". His interests still concentrated on the gonarthrosis in his left knee joint, which in the long run will call for an arthroscopic surgical intervention.

In our eyes the patient is no longer in need for treatment and we discharged him with the agreement that if the pains should return he should pay us another visit. (See photo 240 dated 6 April 1998).
