Dr. Raftis was born in 1950 on the island of Cyprus and since 1988 he has been established as a General Practitioner in Ansbach.

In 1969 his professional process lead him to Minneapolis, USA where he studied chemistry. Subsequent to a successful conclusion of his studies in the United States he decided to continue his studies in Germany where already four of his five brothers lived.

He commenced studying humane medicine in 1975 which he completed 1981 in Erlangen. In conclusion to this he was employed for the next seven years by the US Army as family practitioner, where he gained special knowledge in the fields of pediatric, obstetrical/gynecological, surgical and general medicine. He intensively engaged himself in the treatment of most types of pain.

In 1988 he decided to take the step to independence and opened his own physician’s practice in downtown Ansbach. After many years of practice in pain therapy Dr. Raftis wanted to devote himself in learning new fields of therapy forms and completed additional schooling in the area of acupuncture. Besides the classical ear and Chinese acupuncture, he was greatly fascinated by the Yamamotos New Skull Acupuncture (YNSA) therapy.

In Fall 1997 Dr. Raftis had the opportunity to receive an invitation as guest listener at the Yamamoto Hospital in Nickinan-Miyasaki in South Japan. On the basis of the experience he gained there and the fascination for this type of pain-relief therapy, the majority of his treatment is in accordance with the YNSA acupuncture methods.

Presently Dr. Raftis is experimenting and investigating various transcranial stimulation methods with the thought in mind of obtaining scientific documentation in order to prove the influence of acupuncture and the use of such as an alternative to standard medicine for treatment of pain, as well as it’s usefulness in treating other ailments.
